The PSG forward celebrated the Copa America triumph with his home supporters

Lionel Messi could not hold back the tears after his hat-trick against Bolivia, which was followed by Copa America celebrations with the Argentina fans.

Argentina won the Copa in Brazil in July but paraded their trophy in front of their home supporters after Thursday's World Cup qualifier.

"I've dreamed of this for so long," Messi said. "It's a unique moment after such a long wait. There was no better way for it to happen and to be here celebrating it is something incredible."

"So much happiness. This is what I have always dreamed of and it's happened. For my family and for all Argentines... I am so emotional. My mum and brothers are in the stands, they've suffered a lot as well. I am so happy.

"I have always said individual prizes are secondary because we're here for something else (team success)."
