Espanyol sign Chinese Super League top scorer Wu Lei
The Shanghai SIPG FC forward may have a shoulder injury which keeps him out for three months though
Espanyol announced the signing of Shanghai SIPG FC striker Wu Lei on Monday, the Chinese Super League's top scorer with 27 goals this season.
The Chinese-owned club did not provide any more details, like contract length or transfer fee. Wu Lei sustained a shoulder injury during China's run to the quarter-finals of the Asian Cup and may miss up to three months.
"The club believe he's a player with enormous potential, capable of becoming a key player in the squad," said Espanyol in a statement.
He has 102 goals in his career in China.
