After days negotiating with Rayo Vallecano, Espanyol were able to seal the signing of Adrian Embarba. The winger joins until 2024, and the club have paid his 10m euro release clause to get him. He spoke to the media on Thursday.
"I thank the club for the enormous effort they made to get me, especially Rufete. If I'm here it's because of him. For me it's a big step in my career and it's a pleasure to be here to help the team.
"I've been speaking to Rufete for time and when he suggested the idea I didn't even think about it. I love the city and the project, I'm looking forward to returning on the pitch the effort they made for me. It's a personal challenge to try myself at a bigger club. I'd been at Rayo all my career and I gave all I could there. I hope it's good for everyone."
