Jordi Farre thinking of reuniting Messi & Neymar if he wins elections

The presidential hopeful would like to see the duo playing together again

Barcelona presidential candidate Jordi Farre says he has had contact with both Lionel Messi and Neymar's people and that he would like to see them playing together again at the club.

Farre said in an interview with Rac1: "Neymar will be welcome back, but the first thing he has to do is cancel the lawsuits he has against the club and apologise.

"We all make mistakes. We have spoken with his people and they've spoken about 'returning home.'"

He continued: "Who would not want the third-best player in the world in the team? There's an option (to do the operation) which is via a transfer request, which would be the equivalent of a year's salary."

In Farre's opinion, "for €40-€45 million, he would come."

On the same line, he still thinks Messi's first option is to continue at Camp Nou: "Messi and Neymar would play together at Barça next year. I am sure Messi does not want to leave. I have spoken with his people, I've not made any advances, but they've told me he wants to stay, he just wants a winning project."

Xavi Hernandez, for the B team

In this sense, Farre's idea is for the Barça captain to "renew year after year and later create a brand between Messi and Barça and for Messi to the honorary club president."

The catch is that Messi must adapt to the club's current financial situation. "He has to adapt to the current conditions at the club," Farre added.

As for the first-team coach, Farre says Xavi could be the B team boss. "Xavi's the best midfielder in the history of the game. He has already told us that he will not return to Barça until 2022.

"He's the future of Barça, but he must start with the B team to learn the role of coach here. I don't think he wants to train his former teammates."
