Emili Rousaud asks for elections to be postponed

The presidential candidate is worried about the coronavirus situation

FC Barcelona presidential pre-candidate Emili Rousaud has asked for the elections to be postponed because of the latest state of the coronavirus pandemic in the region.

Accompanied by Doctor Miguel Llobet, a traumatologist in his campaign, he said that his colleagues, including the president of the College of Medics of Catalonia, “recommend, without exception, that the FC Barcelona elections are not held in the current circumstances.”

Per Llobet: “You can’t compare them with the presidential elections of the Catalan government because you vote in your municipality, in the electoral college closest to your house, and for Barca you have to leave your area.”

He also said that “denying reality is copying what Donald Trump did in the United States and that cost him the elections in the end”.

Rousaud himself said: “In extraordinary times and circumstances, you have to take extraordinary measures and right now the health and lives of our socios are more important than the elections. If we have to risk the health of our fans I prefer the process to be postponed.”
