Atletico Madrid want to avoid another Antoine Griezmann soap opera, with the forward wanted by Barcelona again and his future in the air.
They're lookoing at alternatives in the case he leaves, with Argentines Paulo Dybala (Juventus) and Mauro Icardi (Inter) both options.
According to reports, Atletico don't want Griezmann's potential departure to become a battle. If the forward confirms his desire to leave and Barça or another club pay the release clause, they will take advantage of the cash to strengthen Diego Simeone's attack.
Dybala is not happy at Juve following the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo. He's dropped down the pecking order. His profile is more like Griezmann's.
THE Icardi CASE
The case with Icardi is different. He's an out and out striker, like Diego Costa and Alvaro Morata. Despite that, he's an interesting option and has had a difficult season at Inter.
Whatever happens with Griezmann, it will be a busy summer for Atletico. Lucas Hernandez is off to Bayern Munich, Diego Godin's going to Inter and Filipe Luis could also leave with his contract up. There are also rumours about Saul and Rodrigo.
