Depay and Eric Garcia remain options for Barcelona in the winter

Barça will move again for the duo in the January transfer window

Barcelona were unable to sign Memphis Depay or Eric Garcia before the transfer window closed, two players that coach Ronald Koeman hoped to have in his squad this season.

However, both remain on the agenda and will be options again when the transfer window opens in January -- there are just 86 days to go.

Manchester City's Garcia and Lyon's Depay both have agreements with Barça. They wanted to come this past summer but financial restrictions eventually killed both deals.

They are both out of contract next June and will be available for free but Barça will consider renewed attempts for both players this winter.

However, there's a certain amount of the unknown to any future business. With the vote of no confidence against Josep Maria Bartomeu, it's not clear who will be the president when 2021 starts.

If Bartomeu is ousted before then, it will be up to the new board to decide whether to pursue an interest in Garcia and Depay.

Garcia, 19, left Barça for City in 2017 and is a strategic signing. It's likely that whoever is running the club in January will back another move for the young defender.

Depay, 26, is very much a Ronald Koeman target. It will be the Dutch coach who will once again have to canvas for his signing if he still wants a No.9 for the second half of the season.
