De Ligt's smile tells a story when asked about Barça

The defender scored Ajax's winner against Juventus on Tuesday

Matthijs de Ligt was one of the stars of the Champions League on Tuesday as he scored the goal which helped Ajax knock Juventus out in the quarterfinal.

The teenage centre-back -- already Ajax captain at the age of 19 -- has been linked with Barcelona all season and even more since his teammate Frenkie de Jong's move to the Catalans was confirmed in January.

Even though nothing has been confirmed yet, 'El Chiringuito' asked the Dutch international in the mixed zone in Turin if it was possible to say no to Barça. De Ligt's smile spoke for itself.

Even though he did not respond to the question, in an attempt to not give it importance, you could use the old saying to explain his response: 'The eyes are the mirror of the soul.'

De Ligt is having an incredible season. Despite his years, he's become one of the best centre-backs in the world as Ajax have impressed against Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Juventus in the Champions League.

Among his strengths are his ability to read the game and intercept, his pace and his aerial ability -- he's 1m89 tall.
