The former Barça right back, who was named MVP of the Copa America, is out of contract at PSG and free to sign for anyone else

At 36 years of age, Dani Alves was named as the best player at the Copa America 2019.

Despite being named as the MVP, he is currently without a club after his contract with PSG expired on the 30th of June.

The right-back, who left Barça in 2016 to sign for Juventus, has spent the last two seasons with PSG but now wants a new challenge.

Alves isn't keen on taking up the big money moves to Asia or North America and insists he still wants to compete at the highest level in football.

a Barça return appears very unlikely

Barcelona have been linked with a move for their legendary full-back but it would be a complicated deal to finalise. He left on bad terms, heavily criticising the board, and doesn't fit the profile of player the club is currently looking for. Nelson Semedo and Sergi Roberto are the current right back options.

Against Peru, Alves collected the 41st trophy of his career, making him the most successful footballer of all time.

Alves has yet to make any passing comment or hint at where he might end up playing next season. One thing's for sure, he won't be short of offers.
