The defender took to Twitter to write a prideful message about the team's great display

Minutes after smashing Real Madrid 4-0 in the last Clasico of the season, Gerard Pique took to Twitter to stick his finger in the wound.

In a message about the big win at the Santiago Bernabeu, the defender wrote: “We are back.” The defender was delighted with the triumph which will be remembered like some of the other big wins there in recent years, including the 6-2 in 2009.

A simple message but one that means a lot after Barcelona’s game. He wanted to show the atmosphere at the club.

Meanwhile, his partner Shakira also wrote a Tweet, about Pique, who played in the game after suffering a knock prior.

“He won't let me say these things publicly. But only he, with his heroism, can play like this... Overcoming any injury or pain and always giving his best. It's not because he's my husband, but he's the best centre-back in the world,” wrote the Colombian on social media.
