The defender hurt his foot in the win over Dynamo Kyiv in midweek

Barcelona returned to training on Friday to step up preparations for Sunday's Clasico against Real Madrid at Camp Nou (16.15h).

After a day off following the Champions League win over Dynamo Kyiv, coach Ronald Koeman is waiting to see how Jordi Alba is.

Alba is one of the team's in-form players and is especially important to how Barça attack down the left -- he set up Gerard Pique's goal vs. Kyiv.

The defender received a knock on his right foot on Wednesday and it's still not known how serious the problem is or if it puts his Clasico participation at risk.

However, he will work hard to be ready for the game and Barça will have a better idea of his fitness after Friday's session, once the swelling has gone down.

It's not been ruled out that he plays with a pain-killing injection.
