Juventus could turn to Zidane if they decide to sack Sarri

Juventus were eliminated from the Champions League after being unable to turn around the tie against Olympique Lyon. Two goals from Cristiano Ronaldo were enough to win on the night but the Old Lady were knocked out on away goals.

Following the match, Juve's president Andrea Agnelli seemed to suggest there were doubts as to whether Maurizio Sarri would remain in charge of the club next season. "Maurizio has written an extraordinary page in the book on Italian football. However, in the Champions League the performance has been disappointing. It's an objective for us now, not just a dream. We have an important team and the best player in the world with us. We'll take a few days to make a decision," he told 'Sky Sport'.

And whilst Agnelli was lukewarm on Sarri's future, he was more direct when it came to his Portuguese striker. "I'm sure Cristiano Ronaldo will stay with us next season. He's a pillar of this Juventus team." 

As for Sarri, he said: "I don't believe the high ranking directors will make a decision on my future based on one match. I feel offended by you asking me that. I don't expect anything. I'm under contract and I'll respect that." 

Yet the reaction to Agnelli's words haven't gone unnoticed in the Italian press this morning. Filippo Inzaghi has been linked with the job according to 'Gazzetta dello Sport', as well as Zinedine Zidane. Zidane himself was eliminated from the competition for the first time as a coach last night. Would he be tempted to abandon Madrid again if he was offered the chance to lead Juventus - and Cristiano - next season?
