Gareth Bale's comment that will annoy Cristiano Ronaldo

Gareth Bale surprisingly quit football a few months ago, but on the eve of the Champions League final he is back in the limelight after some statements that will not leave many Madrid fans happy.

Bale spoke to 433 in the hours leading up to the Champions League final between Guardiola's Manchester City and Inzaghi's Inter Milan, and his answers were strong. Asked about a result in the final, the Welshman was clear: a 5-0 win for City. 

But that was not all. Asked who was the best player to ever win the Champions League, Bale answered without hesitation: "Messi." 

One of Madrid's best players, a key cog in securing the club's recent continental titles, has opted for the Argentine star, forgetting Cristiano Ronaldo, one of his partners in attack, with whom he formed a fearsome trident alongside Karim Benzema.

The Welshman also opted for Messi's left foot, rather than Cristiano's right, when given the choice between the two options.
