Over the last few days it's been suggested that should Coutinho win the competition with Bayern, it would activiate one of his bonuses, but that isn't true

Bayern Munich face Olympique Lyon in the semi-finals of the Champions League and there's been a lot of speculation as to what that means for Philippe Coutinho. The midfielder is on loan from Barça but has a clause in his deal which states should he win the competition, Liverpool would be due a bonus payment.

However, the 'Times' say should Coutinho win the Champions League this season then Barça won't need to pay anything extra to Liverpool. This is because the specific clause is related to Barcelona winning the competition, not just the player.

With Ronald Koeman set to take over at Barça, Coutinho might be given another chance to prove himself at the Camp Nou. If money is going to be tight this summer - and it being unlikely any side is going to pay anywhere close to Barça's asking price for the midfielder - then Coutinho could remain in Barcelona.
