Barcelona Femeni continued their strong start to the UEFA Women’s Champions League with a 2-0 win at Koge on Thursday night, although it wasn’t their greatest performance.
They might have gone behind in the early stages but took control of the game midway through the first half, albeit without the finishing touch.
At least, until Rolfo found it in the 63rd minute, finishing nicely from Lieke Mertens’s curling cross.
The Danish side defended well before and after the goal but it took just that one moment of slipped concentration for the Catalans to make the difference.
Jenni Hermoso added a second from the spot in the 95th minute to finish a comfortable second half for the visitors.
After the 4-1 thrashing of Arsenal in the opening game Barcelona are in control of Group C, with Hoffenheim and Arsenal playing later on.
