Carles Perez & Abel Ruiz score on day Barça present Braithwaite

The two academy graduates were on target in the Europa League on Thursday

Carles Perez and Abdel Ruiz both scored on Thursday just hours after Barcelona had presented Martin Braithwaite as their latest signing.

Perez was on target as Roma beat Gent in the Europa League, while Ruiz found the net in Braga's 3-2 defeat to Rangers in the same competition.

Braithwaite, meanwhile, had been unveiled at Camp Nou as Barca's latest signing after they were granted permission to turn to the transfer market outside the transfer window due to injuries to Ousmane Dembele and Luis Suarez.

They may not have needed to, though, if they had not sold Perez and Ruiz in January.

Perez joined Roma on loan initially in a deal that could be worth 13 million euros in the summer, while Ruiz headed to Braga, the same club Barça will sign Trincao from, in a transfer worth up to 10 million euros.

Barça have used that cash to bring in Braithwaite from Leganes for 18 million. He trained with his new teammates on Friday and could be involved against Leganes on Thursday.
