The 38-year-old has helped propel Milan into the Europa League

Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored twice on Wednesday as AC Milan beat Sampdoria 4-1 and then declared he's like Benjamin Button.

The Swedish striker has reversed Milan's fortunes since rejoining the club from LA Galaxy and, at the age of 38, this week became the first player to score 50 goals for both AC and Inter Milan.

"I'm like Benjamin Button," he told Milan TV after the Sampdoria win, before adding: "But I've always been young, never old."

He added: "When I score goals, it's always positive, helping the team. We hope to keep on this line, I still have strength to keep on scoring. They tell me I am old and tired, but I'm just warming up."

Zlatan has scored nine goals and set up five more in 17 Serie A appearances since returning to Milan to propel them into next season's Europa League.

They have been the form side in Italy since the lockdown and are now unbeaten in 11 games since the restart with just one more match to be played, at home to Cagliari this weekend.

Regardless of that result, they will finish sixth in Serie A. The Sampdoria win moved them four points clear of Napoli and assured them of European football next season.
