The midfielder arrives in Turin, signing a 4-year deal, after seeing out his contract at Liverpool

Juventus have confirmed the signing of central midfielder Emre Can after his contract with Liverpool expired. The German international has signed a four-year deal with the Serie A champions.

Can, born in Frankfurt and a graduate of Bayern Munich's academy, travelled to Turin this Thursday and successfully passed a medical.

The German becomes Juventus' first signing of this transfer window as the Italian club looks to replicate their domestic dominance on the European stage.

After being a part of the Bayern Munich squad which won the treble - Bundesliga, German Cup and Champions League in 2012/13 - Can moved to Bayer Leverkusen the following year. He then moved to the Premier League in 2014.

At Liverpool the midfielder made 167 appearances for 'The Reds' scoring 17 goals but failed to pick up a single trophy during his time in England.

Can, who has 20 caps for Germany, was part of the squad which finished third at the European Championship in 2016 and won the Confederations Cup last year. However Can missed out on a place in Germany's squad for this summer's World Cup in Russia.
