De Ligt to undergo shoulder surgery and will be out for three months
The Dutch defender, who helped Juventus win Serie A but fell short in the Champions League, will miss the start of next season
Matthijs de Ligt will be out for three months after the defender undergoes shoulder surgery. Almost since joining Juventus, de Ligt has been suffering from an issue in his right shoulder and will now go under the knife to resolve that discomfort.
"Gazzetta dello Sport" claim Andrea Pirlo views de Ligt as someone he wants to build Juventus around going forward. The decision was made for him to have the surgery now rather than potentially miss the end of next season.
"It's something I really need to have fixed. I'm focused on this now because I need time to recover," de Ligt said after Juventus lost to Lyon in the Champions League.
