Italian youngster Zaniolo suffers his second serious knee injury in 2020
The Roma forward missed eight months of action due to a knee injury and will now miss the majority of the 2020/21 season too
Roma youngster Nicoló Zaniolo was forced off the pitch in Italy's Nations League match against Holland. It's bad news for Zaniolo as his worst fears were confirmed when it was revealed he had suffered a torn knee ligament and will miss the next six months of the season.
Zaniolo only just returned after eight months out with a knee injury. Although that was with the other knee. Roma's statement said:
"Nicolò Zaniolo will undergo surgery on Wednesday after MRI scans today confirmed the player has suffered a complete tear to the anterior cruciate ligament of his left knee. The 21-year-old suffered the injury while playing for Italy against Holland on Monday evening."
