He has had a heart defibrillator implant put in to help him if he suffers further problems

Inter Milan midfielder Christian Eriksen was operated on successfully and may get his medical clearance to leave the hospital next Friday. He has had a defibrillator implanted in his heart to control his cardiac rhythm and potentially avoid situations like what happened in the Denmark vs Finland game, when he collapsed and had to be resuscitated.

The Dane is doing well now and may even hope to resume his football career. Other players, including Daley Blind, are playing at the top level while having a similar implant.

The Belgium game against Denmark was paused in the 10th minute to pay tribute to Eriksen.
