The Polish striker took the operation after the win over Wolfsburg

Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski had groin surgery and will miss up to a fortnight, per the German club.

"Robert will have the operation straight after the match," said Bayern’s interim head coach Hansi Flick. "We don't want to lose any time. We'll have to wait and see how the procedure goes, but he should be out of action for between 10 and 14 days."

Bayern had beaten Wolfsburg 2-0 on Saturday, with Lewandowski not scoring but setting up one of the goals. The operation has been timed to take advantage of the winter break.
