Bayern Munich appoint Jupp Heynckes as their new coach
He has accepted the role until the end of the season
The 72 year old takes over after Carlo Ancelotti was axed
Bayern Munich have appointed Jupp Heynckes as their new coach, he told Kicker, saying he was taking the role "as an act of friendship" and for what he owes the club.
"It's not a new start but an act of friendship and I am only doing it because of what I owe the club," said Heynckes, 72, taking over after Carlo Ancelotti was sacked.
"I have good sensations that things can start working immediately," said the coach.
Heynkes finished his previous era at Bayern in 2013 (after starting in 2011), winning the treble of Bundesliga, German Cup and Champions League.
