Arjen Robben has signed a new contract with German champions Bayern Munich, extending his stay at club until at least the end of next season.

The Dutch winger will therefore spend a 10th season in Munich at the club he joined from Real Madrid back in 2009.

Sine then, he has won the Bundesliga on seven occasions, the cup four times and the Champions League once, beating Borussia Dortmund in the 2013 final.

“Basically, I’d already like to get started on the new season, to be honest," Robben told the club's official website. "It was really, really painful, it really did hurt and still hurts now, that I had to go off in the Champions League semi-final and missed the second leg.

"It hurts. So next season I’ll once again give everything I’ve got so we have a good season, and hopefully I can be an important part of the team.”

Robben has made 290 appearances for Bayern and has scored a total of 138 goals and continues to contribute to the team despite his veteran status.
