The Germans booked their place in the last 16 of the Champions League with a narrow win

Borussia Dortmund were grateful to Barcelona as they booked their place in the last 16 of the Champions League with a 2-1 win over Slavia Prague.

Dortmund knew that a win would not be enough if Inter Milan also won, but the Italians were beaten 2-1 at home to Barça and dropped into the Europa League.

Jadon Sancho gave Dortmund the lead in the first half but there were some nerves in Germany when Soucek levelled just before the break.

However, Dortmund re-took the lead on the hour mark and spent the final 30 minutes closely following events in Milan.

Inter had two goals disallowed at 1-1 -- and one in the first half, too -- before Ansu Fati struck late on to earn Barça the win and get the party started in Dortmund.
