The French star's property was targetted as he played at the Bernabeu

Wednesday was not a good night for the Real Madrid players as they were knocked out of the Copa del Rey by Barcelona at the Santiago Bernabeu, but it was an especially bad night for Karim Benzema.

We're not talking about his lack of luck in front of goal, but the fact that while he was playing he had his house robbed in the Spanish capital.

It's unknown how much was taken in the robbery but it's true that the experience of having been targetted meant the French forward did not have a pleasant night.

The information was revealed by El Chiringuito, but they could not reveal too many details as an investigation is under way.

Hopefully the police in Madrid can identify those responsible for the robbery.

Benzema's the latest footballer to be targetted while playing. In recent weeks, PSG's Dani Alves and Barça's Kevin Prince Boateng have also been the subject of burglaries at their properties.
