Yusuf Demir returns to Rapid Vienna as Barça loan cut short

The youngster's stay in Barcelona has ended early due to a €10m clause

Barcelona have confirmed Yusuf Demir's return to Rapid Vienna on Thursday as the Austrian's stay at Camp Nou is cut short.

Demir, 18, was not part of Xavi Hernandez's plans and has seen his loan end prematurely because of a €10 million clause in the deal with Vienna.

If he played one more game for Barça -- which would have been his 10th -- Barça would have to sign him permanently for €10m.

Demir joined Barça initially to play for the B team but given a lack of forwards, Ronald Koeman registered him for the first team after an impressive preseason.

With players now back from injury and the signing of Ferran Torres, he is a long way down the pecking order when it comes to team selection.

Barça acknowledge that the situation hasn't been handled perfectly as the player returns to Vienna to get his career back on track.
