Yuste further plays down expectations of Barça signing Haaland

The vice president spoke about the financial complications in signing the striker

The signing of Erling Haaland seems more and more unlikely from Barcelona's point of view. If Joan Laporta reduced the expectations recently, vice president Rafa Yuste has further reduced them, saying the arrival of the Borussia Dortmund striker is "very difficult."

Yuste said: "We've encountered a terrible financial situation that's impeded us from fulfilling our expectations. As president Laporta said, we have to protect the club and for that reason, we can't do operations of that magnitude of money. I won't say it's not viable because things can change in football, but it's very difficult."

Therefore, Manchester City seem more and more likely to sign Haaland, who has a €75 million release clause that expires at the end of April.

Aware that Haaland is almost impossible, Barça are working on alternatives for the summer.
