Young midfielder Sarsanedas will extend Barcelona contract
An agreement has been reached, the deal just has to be signed
Ferran Sarsanedas will extend his Barcelona contract. The Barça B midfielder's terms expire this summer but SPORT can reveal that he's reached an agreement to sign a new deal.
The contract has been agreed by the player and the club and all that is left is for it to be signed and made official.
It's a prize for Sarsanedas after a tough season. The midfielder has missed most of the campain with a ligament problem in his knee.
He had been a regular in Garcia Pimienta's side but the injury forced him into surgery in Octover and left hime sidelined for the rest of the campaign.
A few weeks ago he was able to return to training. "After 198 days..." he said. "I have returned! Thanks to everyone. I am really happy."
The new deal includes is one of a number of decision Barça B must take. After failing to gain promotion, various players could leave on loan, while not many will be promoted from Juvenil A. Instead, the club will look to tie down key players and go to the market to strengthen the current squad.
