With the transfer now completed, Yerry Mina already knows the shirt number he will wear at Barcelona. He will take the 24 which Jeremy Mathieu vacated when he moved to Sporting Lisbon in the summer.
24 fits between the 23 and 25 that Umtiti and Vermaelen, two of the club's other centre-backs, wear. In the past defenders like Fernando Couto, Carles Puyol and Andreu Fontas have worn the number. In other positions, Sergi Roberto, Roger Garcia, Andres Iniesta and Yaya Toure have worn it.
We do not yet know what number Philippe Coutinho will wear. It could be the No 7 that Arda Turan left vacant, or the No 14 when Mascherano goes to China.
