Yaya Toure: In England, Messi could only play for Manchester City
The former Barcelona midifelder spoke about Messi's future
Former Ivory Coast midfielder Yaya Toure, a one-time teammate of Lionel Messi's at FC Barcelona between 2007 and 2010, has spoken about the Argentine star's future.
Messi has told the club he's considering his future after the 8-2 loss to Bayern Munich and a move to England could be one of his options.
"In England, he could only play for Manchester City, because he doesn't defend and coaches don't like that," Toure said. "Guardiola knows him best and knows how to play his football.
"In the Premier League, they want you to work hard, defend and attack, and it's not easy. But if he comes, it will be good for City, who are one of the few English clubs that have money to pay him."
However, he doesn't think Messi will end up leaving Barca and doesn't see him moving away from Barcelona.
"If he goes, it will leave a huge hole, but I have my doubts about him leaving Barcelona, honestly, because everything there boils down to Messi," he added.
"Messi loves Barcelona. He loves the city, the club and the way of life there."
