The coach will invite the centre-back back to join in the celebrations

In the press conference prior to the match against Espanyol, the most talked about topic was the possibility of Barça going on to win the title. Barça are depending on themselves to lift the trophy, with a win doing the trick, and in view of this possibility, Xavi Hernández was asked if they would welcome Gerard Pique to the potential parade.

The former Barça player retired last November, just before the start of the World Cup. The centre-back took advantage of the international break to hang up his boots, but not before having contributed his bit to the possible Cule title win.

Xavi is aware of this and explained: "Yes, we have thought about it. He is a special case because he retired, unlike other players who are in other teams. We will let him know for the celebration."

FC Barcelona, who have already prepared a procession through the streets of Barcelona, will be able to count on the presence of Piqué, a club legend and member of one of the best teams in history.

Sergio Busquets, who has already announced that he will be leaving the club where he has played for 15 seasons at the end of the season, will also be celebrating his last Barça title.

The press conference was special because of the affection that Xavi wanted to convey to two players who, first of all, were team-mates of his and, at the end of his career, players who helped him a great deal to win his first titles as Barça coach.
