The coach called on the new arrival to Barca Atletic and some more from the B team
Roman Vega landed on Friday at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper to train under the orders of Rafa Marquez, Barça Atletic coach. Only four days have passed since then and the Argentine defender has already been able to enjoy a training session with the first team.
Xavi Hernandez filled out his group on Tuesday morning with several members of the reserve team, including the left-back, who can also act as a central defender.
The defensive problems caused by the FIFA virus, above all, have affected the right-hand area of defence, where Koundé and Araujo leave a gap that is very difficult to fill. Both central defenders can be used as right-backs. There are also reports Hector Bellerin is out too after a problem in training on Tuesday.
However, Xavi Hernández wants to have everything under control and, in that sense, the call up for Román Vega is a declaration of intent. The coach will examine the footballer during the morning session at the Ciutat Esportiva to have alternatives planned in case they are needed.
In addition to Vega, Nil Ruiz, Casadó, Carbonell, Txus Alba, Roberto and Luismi, all of them from the B team, were used. Robert Lewandowski and Christensen, among others, were present at this session, as they have fulfilled their international commitments. Both played 180 minutes with Poland and Denmark, respectively.
