The coach is focused on winning LaLiga before signing new terms at Camp Nou

FC Barcelona coach Xavi Hernández said ahead of the Getafe game in La Liga that he is still prioritising winning the league before finalising his renewal, although he is "happy" that the club and his representatives are making progress in negotiations to extend his contract.

The Barça coach admitted that he is "very happy that they value the work (I am doing). There are conversations with the president, with Mateu and Jordi. There is confidence and there will be no problems to understand each other."

While they are already talking about extending his contract, he added his usual message: "I think we have to focus first on winning this league and then talk about a possible renewal that would give us a lot of stability."

Unlike other days, Xavi spoke to the media before the last training session prior to the trip to Madrid, as the team plays on Sunday at the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez at 4.15pm.

Unusually, the team will travel by train to Madrid on Saturday and will return on Sunday by the same means of transport.
