The pair unfortunately clashed in a training game and it ended up with Nico hurt

Xavi Hernandez, in his press conference on Saturday, revealed how Nico fractured his toe which will keep him out for the rest of the season.

“Nico broke his toe in a clash with Ansu in a game, it’s a pity because we need everyone. We don’t have too many central midfielders, but that’s football,” said Xavi.

Ansu’s return is at least a positive for him on that front and he will get some minutes from the bench most likely against Real Mallorca.

On Pedri, he said: “He has good sensations and is working apart from the group.” There’s a chance, it seems, he could return before the end of the season.

“Ousmane woke up with tonsillitis, we’ll see tomorrow, he’s crucial,” said Xavi, implying the French forward could recover to play.

On Sergi Roberto he said the midfielder’s injury is a “muscular” issue, not a relapse.
