Xavi paused his holiday to be present at the meeting over Dembele's future

SPORT have learned that Xavi was a key figure behind the meeting between Xavi and Ousmane Dembele’s camp on Monday. The coach wants the Frenchman to stay and be a key figure in his new project.
Xavi encouraged the chat after hearing from Dembele’s people that the forward wants to stay for next season and beyond. Xavi montentarily suspended his holidays to be present at the meeting and state his case.
The Catalan coach has always been a public supporter of Dembele, since the day he was appointed, saying he could be one of the best players in the world.
Dembele staying would help them save money on Raphinha Alcantara or Angel di Maria, although the latter seems Juve bound.
That money could be spent on Jules Kounde, another key target for Xavi.
