The coach is quite happy with how Barcelona are shaping up for the second half of the season

Xavi is conscious of Barcelona’s financial situation after the effort made last summer by the club. He has not asked for big changes to be made in January.

Xavi spoke to Barcelona TV about the upcoming second half of the season.

“I told Mateu (Alemany) that we won’t touch too much, I’m happy with the squad, it’s a fantastic group,” Xavi said.

“We won’t know if we can bring in new players … I think we can be competitive.”

The only change so far is Gerard Pique leaving after his retirement, but Xavi is counting on the other skippers - Sergio Busquets, Jordi Alba and Sergi Roberto.

“I am happy with the captains, we train at 100 per cent and we see that on the pitch. If we don’t touch anything, I’m very happy.”
