Xavi on starting from zero, the mood at Barça and January deals

Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez spoke to the media ahead of Sunday's LaLiga game against Osasuna in Pamplona.

Here are some of the highlights from his appearance:

Starting from zero: "We have to reset. We must demand more from the players. We start from zero with more courage, desire and excitement. From now we have to see a Barça with soul. That's the message for the squad these last few days."

Mood: "The players are down. There's quality here to do more, but we have to believe. We're encouraging the players to do things, to be brave. It's psychological but also football-related. There are moments when we don't understand where the free man or the space is."

January deals: "We're working on it, that's the reality. The team always has to improve and we're alert to the market. We're talking a lot. We had a productive meeting on Thursday. I was clear on what I want and what I need."

Albert Benaiges: "It's a very delicate, very complicated issue. We're surprised. He is someone we think highly of and has always treated us excellently. He created a really good legacy here, so we're surprised. Now justice has to run its course. I don't have any information that he's done anything like [what's been reported]. He was my coach and there was never even a single suspicion. I'm surprised and really affected by the news, but now we have to leave it in the hands of the law."
