The Barcelona coach is delighted with the role of the January signings

Xavi Hernandez took advantage of Saturday's pre-Athletic Club press conference to analyse Barcelona's new signings.

The Barça coach is satisfied with the contributions made so far by Ferran Torres, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Adama Traore and Dani Alves.

The arrival of the four has provided a breath of fresh air to the team, who have subsequently grown in both performances and results.

The lack of goals from the first half of the season has seemingly been forgotten, with Torres, Aubameyang and even Alves already on target, while Adama has created four goals.

"Without the January signings (the last month) would have been more difficult, of course," Xavi said of Barça's improved form.

"I have not been surprised by Aubameyang, he has always been a goal scorer. We know his quality and he's working hard for the team.

"Adama's decision-making has surprised me, he's matured.

"Perhaps Ferran has surprised me the most. He's a player on another level, he's spectacular: how he understands the space, links play, doesn't lose the ball, his defensive work... he's world-class.

"He's a great signing, one I wanted, and a wonderful footballer."
