Xavi Hernández has commented on current events at FC Barcelona and, above all, he has talked about Barça’s new manager, Ernesto Valverde, who starts a new era at the club.
Xavi admitted he does not know Valverde personally, who started his work on the training ground this week, but says he has heard good things about him. He does know Antonio Pozanco, Valverde’s physical trainer, very well.
“I don’t know him personally but I like how his teams play. I don’t know Valverde much but I do know rubio [José Antonio Pozanco]”, Xavi said. “I know Pozanco very well and admire him. He’s fantastic. He’s someone I know very well from Barcelona, I had him as a physical trainer with the first team and in the youth team and he’s brilliant. And he’s telling me that Valverde is the best coach he’s known and worked with. Therefore, my faith in Valverde is blind. I honestly think he’s the best manager that Barcelona could have got”.
