Xavi Hernandez: What are Barca doing with La Masia?
The player lamented the way things are going at his beloved club
Xavi Hernandez, Al Sadd’s former Barcelona player, spoke about his worries over La Masia. The Barca youth product has always been interested in the players that come from there.
“The situation with youth football at Barcelona worries me,” said Xavi. “It’s bad they have sacked Joan Vila. What’s going on at Barcelona? He’s the person with the most knowledge of Barcelona’s positional play. I don’t understand it,” he told Catalunya Radio.
Xavi has always admired Vila, who helped him learn the game at Barca.
He did have some praise, though. for Riqui Puig.
“In 20 minutes you can already see that he’s a Barcelona player. I think he can succeed. He just needs one opportunity.”
