The coach met those not with their countries at the training ground on Tuesday

Xavi Hernandez has now given his first speech as Barcelona coach to the players. He did so on Tuesday morning at the training ground before taking his first session.

Xavi was able to meet all the players that are not with their national teams, so that also included the injured players at the club.

In images that accompany Xavi's first chat with the squad, the coach can also be seen talking to some of the players he considers important to his project, such as Ousmane Dembele.

Speaking at his presentation on Monday, he said it was a "priority" for Dembele to renew his contract with the club. The Frenchman's deal is up next June.

Xavi was also pictured meeting Neto, Sergi Roberto, Nico Gonzalez and Riqui Puig. Nico is likely to be increasingly important for the new boss, as he was for Ronald Koeman and Sergi Barjuan previously, while Puig will have another chance to show his quality to another new manager.

After the speech, Xavi, those available from the first team and a group called up from the B team and the U19s trained as the former Barça midfielder took charge of his first session in his new role.
