Former Barcelona midfielder Xavi Hernandez has spoke to 'Super Deportivo de Villa Trinidad' from Qatar. The Al-Sadd player spoke about many issues, including Arthur Melo, who has been compared to him.
"He's one of those players that we say has Barça DNA," Xavi said. "He has all the qualities needed to be a success and if he's given games, I think we're looking at a player that can mark an era at Barcelona."
Many players have been compared to Xavi since he left Barça in 2015 but few as widely as Arthur, who joined the Catalan club from Gremio this past summer.
Arthur has made his Brazil debut since moving to Barcelona and impressed in this week's win over Argentina, further enhancing his growing reputation.
As for his future as a coach, Xavi said he would love to transmit his "idea of play to other players. It's a dream I have and I am going to try. For now, I am doing my badges. In 2019 I will keep moving forward in that aspect."
