Xavi: Gerard Pique does not feel valued or loved

Former Barcelona star Xavi Hernandez spoke to 'Món a RAC1' about his friend Gerard Pique and the controversy

Everyone has given their opinion on Gerard Pique and the shirt-sleeves issue, after the defender announced he would retire. Now it's Xavi Hernandez's turn. The Al-Saad player spoke about his old friend.

He siad that "Carles Puyol and I have suffered it too for years", saying that there was a "lack of respect" for Gerard Pique.

"Pique took it seriously. He has the right to say he's fed up of it and doesn't want to go any more. That's totally fine."

He also sent a message to those who who attacked Pique. "Anyone would think he ripped the badge off his chest, everyone knows that he goes out to defend the colours of the Spain team.

"I think that he's sick of it. It's hopeless because you don't feel valued or loved and they tell you that you are not committed."
