The Catalan club will travel to Madrid on Saturday evening on the high speed AVE

Xavi Hernández has talked about recurring controversy in football, that of the use of planes as transport for clubs and their players on short trips away from home. On this occasion, the Barcelona expedition will travel to Madrid by train to play Getafe this Sunday at 16:15.

"It's an environmental issue," Xavi explained. "We will stay in Madrid (Saturday) and it won't affect us so much if the journey is longer. We are open to this type of thing."

In this way, the players and coaching staff traveling to the capital will have more time to prepare for Sunday's game. This is an alternative option to the club's usual travel plans.

Barcelona visit Getafe on Sunday with the aim of breaking their two-game winless streak and taking another step towards the league title. Xavi Hernandez's side face an opponent in the midst of a battle to avoid relegation to the second division.

After lifting the Spanish Super Cup, the Catalan side are aiming to win the league title. The objective is to get back to winning ways to get the three points so that they can take a more relaxed approach to the final stretch of the league campaign.
