The new coach will oversee Tuesday's session as he gets to grips with his new squad

Xavi Hernandez arrived at Barcelona's out of town training ground early on Tuesday to prepare for his first proper day as the club's new coach.

The former midfielder arrived shortly before 9am local time to take charge of what will be his first training session with his new players at 11am. Prior to the session, he met with his coaching staff and the players.

Shortly after Xavi's arrival, the available players also began to arrive well over an hour before training was due to start: Eric Garcia, Iñaki Peña, Braithwaite, Pedri, Ansu, Nico, Sergi Roberto, Piqué, Luuk De Jong, Riqui Puig, Mingueza, Umtiti, Dest and Neto met with Xavi before the session.

Six available

However, of all those players, only Iñaki Peña, Neto, Mingueza, Umtiti, Riqui Puig and Luuk de Jong are able to train fully as the rest are injured, while those not listed are away with their international sides.

Barça's first game with Xavi as coach will be against Espanyol on Nov. 20 at Camp Nou.
