The coach has stressed, once again, that both he and the club have a lot of hope for the youth product

Ansu Fati's name is always on the lips of journalists at Xavi Hernandez's press conferences. This morning, in the run-up to the league game against Cadiz at the Spotify Camp Nou (Sunday 19 at 21:00), the academy player was once again in the spotlight.

The blaugrana coach was asked if Ansu Fati can become - soon - a player like Marcus Rashford and score 20-25 goals per season, Xavi has answered that "hopefully, he has the ability; then it is the confidence that he can have, that we will give him all of it".

Xavi added that "his performance will mark his evolution within the club. It's clear that we have a lot of hope in him, I've said it many times. He will be, and already is being, important for the club and the team".

Fati has had a tumultuous season so far but was the only player in the squad to appear in all 31 games in the season, albeit sparingly as a substitute in many. He did not however feature against their most recent La Liga opponents in Villarreal, bringing an end to his streak of continuous appearances.

Ansu is expected to return to the lineup in the game against Cadiz. Ferran Torres, Eric Garcia and Pablo Torre could also feature.
