Why has Pedri not yet been able to take Iniesta's No 8?
The Canarian playmaker loves Don Andres and it's surprising he hasn't got the No 8 yet
Pedri Gonzalez has always confessed his admiration for Andre Iniesta. He’s his idol and big reference point. One of his dreams is to wear the No 8 shirt that Don Andres had at Barcelona, but that has not happened yet.
In his first season with Barcelona, last year, he had the No 16 that Moussa Wague left. Pjanic wore the No 8 shirt that had been Arthur Melo’s before that.
Arthur took it from the playmaker himself when Iniesta went to Vissel Kobe and wore it for two seasons.
With no option to change during the season, Alves arrived and took that number. He will have it until the end of the season at least, but at 38 he won’t be at Barcelona for too many years, so it’s in sight for Pedri.
