Left-back is the one position Barca haven’t doubled up on in the first team squad. This will be solved in the summer. They have renewed Jordi Alba’s contract, which was a priority. The idea is to sign an experienced replacement at zero cost on a two year deal, loan out Miranda, sell Cucurella and also bring in another young left-back for the B team.
Barca have made an effort economically speaking with Alba’s renewal. Now they want a cheap player to be his back-up. The candidates are Arsenal’s Nacho Monreal, Liverpool’s Alberto Moreno, and Atletico Madrid’s Filipe Luis.
There has been contact wit some of them and in all cases there is a predisposition to arrive at a deal.
Miranda has had few chances under Valverde and the club want him to gain experience out on loan. Many clubs are interested. Barca will take back Cucurella from Eibar and sell him for a decent price on the market.
With Miranda going on loan the club will have to sign a B team left-back and want a small cost investment for a player with good potential.
One option is Brazilian Luan Candido at Palmeiras. He is an U20 international and fits the profile.
