Josep Maria Bartomeu is open to signing a player in January

Coutinho is the top priority but there are a number of names on the list

FC Barcelona's president Josep Maria Bartomeu says the club will look for a new signing in January to reinforce the team and try to win the Champions League. The club are looking for a top quality signing and although Coutinho is the preference, there is a list of options...

Philippe Coutinho: He is No 1 on the list. Coaches are clear that his profile fits perfectly at Barcelona. He can play in the middle and in attack and would be a player that can impress from the get-go. Coutinho would fit in well in the dressing room and also be an undisputed starter. Barcelona will try to get him from Liverpool, but they do not want to spend more than 110m euros, making it complicated. Almost impossible.

Fekir: He is the talent that the technical team like most at the moment. They have no doubts about him but they do know that the operations has some risks, with the player still needing to take another step to reach the top level. Lyon have said they will not sell him but they would with a fair offer. Arsenal want him too. Fekir has magic. He can unbalance defences and he can score. Umtiti came from Lyon and he has been excellent for Barcelona. Fekir is eligible to play in the Champions League and he wants to come.

Julian Brandt: The German has been followed closely in recent weeks. They like him a lot but think he lacks a magic touch. In these moments, the interest in him is nearly dead. His price is 30 million euros and Bayern Munich are also interested in him. There is no doubt he is a reliable player but he is not high up on the Barcelona list.

Thomas Lemar: The Monaco attacking midfielder has a lot of talent and a lot of potential. The French international can play on the wing or as an interior. This summer they made a bid for him but Monaco did not sell at the end of the window. Now Barcelona have asked after him again and his price is 100 million euros. A lot of money. If Monaco don't lower it, it's hard to see him arrive, although he's passed all the sporting filters and would be a serious option.

Angel Di María: Barcelona tried to sign him in the final days of the window. Di Maria wants to play at Barcelona and PSG want to sell players to make some money, but the bad relationship between the clubs complicates things. They have asked Barcelona for 70m for him in January, a price the Blaugrana did not want to pay. Not because of his quality, but because of his age.

Christian Eriksen: He is the Premier League player that Barcelona want more than any other. The Danish footballer is prepared to play for a big side after evolving at Tottenham. He has an immense quality and can play in various attacking or midfield positions. Barcelona have spoken with his people but Tottenham do not want to negotiate. They don't need to sell, and less so in January. It would be a huge surprise if Barcelona could sign him in January.
